Usability Testing & Reporting

See where the experience needs work.

We plan usability testing and turn the findings into clear recommendations for your website or application.

The focus is on the tasks people need to complete and the points where the experience becomes difficult. Testing can include sessions with representative users, supported by structured interface and device checks.

We agree the approach around the questions your team needs to answer, then document what the evidence shows and what should happen next.

Define what the testing needs to answer

We begin with the journeys, decisions or concerns that need investigation.

We work with your team to identify important tasks, the people attempting them and the parts of the experience to include. An existing product, a new feature or a prototype can each require a different testing approach.

A focused plan keeps the work connected to a decision the team can make.

Prepare realistic tasks and sessions

Tasks should reflect what people are trying to achieve, with enough context to make the activity meaningful.

For participant sessions, we agree who should take part, how they will be involved and how observations will be recorded. We work with your team on access, scheduling and any support participants need.

The plan also defines the environment and accounts used, so the scope of the exercise is clear.

Observe the experience in use

We look at how participants interpret the interface, find information and work through each task.

Hesitation, unexpected choices, misunderstandings and incomplete actions can all provide useful evidence. We record what happens alongside relevant comments, keeping observations separate from our interpretation of the cause.

The purpose is to understand where the product creates difficulty and which questions need further investigation.

Check the interaction across devices

Usability work can also include practical checks of mobile layouts, navigation, forms and interactive components.

We review how the same task behaves with different screen sizes and input methods, including keyboard use where relevant. Functional or accessibility concerns identified during these checks are recorded alongside the affected journey.

These reviews support participant findings while remaining a distinct form of evidence.

Turn observations into findings

We group related issues and consider the effect each has on completing the task.

A report can include the problem, the relevant screen or step, supporting evidence and a recommended direction. We identify repeated patterns where the sessions support them and make the limits of the sample clear.

This helps the team distinguish a substantial barrier from a smaller improvement or an unanswered question.

Agree what to change first

Recommendations need to become useful design and development work.

We prioritise findings by their effect on the journey, the confidence of the evidence and the dependencies involved. We can walk through the report with your team, clarify the reasoning and identify where a proposed solution needs further exploration.

The result gives stakeholders and delivery teams a shared basis for deciding what to do next.

Review the improvements

Testing can continue after a change has been made.

We can repeat the relevant tasks, check the revised interaction and assess whether the original difficulty remains. New findings can feed into the next development stage or an ongoing improvement plan.

The work is scoped around the product and the decisions ahead, with the testing method and reporting depth agreed from the start.

Let's test the journey that matters

Tell us which experience you want to understand and what the team needs to decide. We will help define the tasks, the testing approach and the evidence needed to move forward.
